apartment on house
today, i faced one of the scariest moment in my life... my apartment building was on fire... it was around 6:30 am my alarm went off... i went to bed again for another 30 minutes.. my wife smelled coil-burning smell around 7am... so i started checking the fans around us... then i heard the fire alarm going off like crazy... i looked at the balcony... i saw few people outside... (it happened a few months ago, and it was a false alarm).. i was thinking the same way.. but it is not... when i opened the door you could see the real smoke coming on the hallway... we dressed up...took just the wallet and the cellphone... (next time on, we should plan on getting all the documents in the bag, maybe have renter issurance)...i tried the stairwell close to our apartment, it is full of smoke... and the other way is also smokey.. nowhere to go..
welll...i don't know whom to call.. i called the apt maintainence... they asked me to stay calm, asked us to block the door with the carpet so that smoke wouldn't enter...and to go out to the balcony and we did... it was okay.. and there came the firefighters for recue... they led us to the stairwell at the end... we started walking down the stair.. and it was wet, i know i was very careful in walking down.. but all of a sudden it was so slippery, both of us fell, thank god.. nobody gets hurt... i was so scared at the time...as my wfie is carrying with our 6 month old daughter.. what to do...this time very carefully walked down..all the six floors... even another firefighter led us to the building lobby and we went out...got some fresh air.....
the apartment still stinks with the fire smell.. not sure how to get rid of it... maybe talked to apartment guys or install air purifier...
